Eugene and Judith Bradbury
When Eugene Bradbury was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, he and his wife, Judith, feared the worst. Everything they read estimated that he’d have around three years to live. But then they went to Roswell Park. There, they learned that Eugene had options, including a novel treatment that wasn’t available anywhere else.
“It really led to me not only being able to survive but to live a very full life. Here we are — 15 years later,” he said.
In 2022, the couple once again returned to Roswell Park where they learned their daughter had acute promyelocytic leukemia, a rare, aggressive form of cancer. She received exceptional care and is flourishing four years later.
For Eugene and Judith, those extra years planted a seed of gratitude that continues to grow today. It’s the reason the couple has decided to become part of the Dr. Roswell Park Legacy Society. They connected to the care they received, and the way it was given, during two of the most challenging times in the family’s life. Remembering Roswell is their way of honoring that connection and bringing hope to the next generation.
“Gift giving is a way to pay forward and a way to give back. It’s a way to feel like you’re part of something bigger than yourself, in a way that will help others,” Judith said. “Every day when I get up and my husband is thriving and our daughter is thriving, there’s always in my heart a ‘thank you’ to Roswell.”
