Ninette Dusenberry
"We just love Roswell - it is a wonderful gift to our community," Ninette Dusenberry says of her dedication to the mission at Roswell Park. Ninette's son Nicholas bravely fought his battle with Melanoma, which sadly took his life in 2004 at the young age of 24. "He truly was my hero, in so many ways. My promise to make a difference for others created my dedication to Roswell and funding Melanoma Research," she shared. In the years since, Ninette and her family have been inspired to support Roswell Park in honor of Nick's spirit. To carry on Nick's legacy, the Nicholas A. Dusenberry Endowed Fund for Melanoma Research was founded to support research aimed at eradicating Melanoma. The family launched an annual memorial golf tournament that helps fund the endowment.
In addition to establishing an endowment in her son's name, Ninette also decided to leave a bequest in her will to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation to show her lasting support of the Comprehensive Cancer Center. "In giving to Roswell, we receive so much - and we know that Nick's life and death continues to have meaning."
