Donor 1

Robert Spampata

Robert Spampata is a grateful patient who credits Roswell Park clinicians and researchers for saving his life. He says, "the fact that Roswell's clinicians are researchers, too: that's the big difference" in treatment plans and success. After speaking with a Roswell Park Alliance Foundation gift officer over the course of treatment, Robert and his wife Jeanne learned how they could create an endowment at Roswell to improve patient quality of life and treatments in the future"”and he and his family could also see their donation's impact today.

With guidance from the Alliance, Robert determined that a feasible way to contribute to the future of Roswell Park's patient care and research was to establish an endowment with qualified IRA distributions.

Robert and Jeanne named one endowment fund in their family names to support quality of life programs in perpetuity. The other endowment they named for their grandson to support research for leukemia and lymphoma. These funds were named in hopes of inspiring the next generations of donors to continue giving to these programs at Roswell Park.
