Meet Our Donors

Shirley Struchen
Shirley's connection with Roswell Park started more than 60 years ago. As a young girl, she came to Roswell Park with her mom while her grandmother received treatment. She fondly remembers the ducks in the main lobby. Her path with Roswell Park spans decades since then, with her mother, husband and even herself battling cancer over the years.
Shirley established the Whipple Family Endowed Fund to support medical oncology education and training programs at Roswell Park. To extend her impact, Shirley is leaving a legacy gift to grow her endowed fund in hopes of strengthening training and education collaborations between Roswell Park and regional education institutions.
Shirley encourages anyone who's been touched by cancer to give back. "It's exciting to hear the progress in science happening at Roswell Park, and giving back to that work helps others. You never know when your family might need something, but also, it can be a very positive and healing action to take," she explained.
